Few masters of dance music operate at the same high level as in their initial heyday, yet Gert-Jan Bijl is still at the top of his game 22 years in. One could attribute the Dutch producer’s consistency to his relentless pursuit of new sounds and set-ups spread out over more than a dozen monikers and even more collaborative projects. By pushing himself beyond the American influenced aesthetics he started in, Bijl kept his productions fresh for himself and his audiences.
